1 Review on “Lazaat Hotel & Venue”

This review is taken from my foodie Insta @hulleatswithpetgoth – give me a follow 😊

Lazaat is a hotel & venue in Cottingham with a restaurant & bar open to the public. Whenever I’m told we have training or a meeting at Lazaat, I always get excited as I know the food here is great! At our last team meeting here, I indulged in one too many of their delicious cookies 😂 My last visit was when my working group met here for a festive lunchtime Christmas buffet. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For only £10pp (absolute bargain by the way!) you could have all you could eat from a selection of salads & breads to start, 5 mains, 2 sides of roast potatoes & steamed rice & 3 desserts. I naturally tried each item on offer to give an accurate review 😂 The salads were lovely & fresh & I particularly liked the apple & beetroot as it was an unusual but tasty combo. Tomato, onion & feta was also good & you can’t go wrong with cheese in any way! Out of the mains, my favourites had to be the coconut chicken, which was perfectly creamy, sweet & spicy & the beef stroganoff which was rich & delicious. I had seconds of both! I also really liked the veggie lasagne which wasn’t missing out by not having meat at all & the sauce was great. I found the quiche rather bland & unexciting & the turkey pie with stuffing balls & cranberry gravy sauce was also good but not my fave.
      ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I was a little disappointed by the dessert options as there were only 3 with one being an exotic fruit salad which didn’t look very interesting & another Christmas pudding with courvoisieur sauce, which I’m not a fan of. That left me with double choc fudge cake (not a problem 😂) however the cream served alongside tasted very strange & more like a long life cream alternative. I was gutted as I drowned my cake in this as I love cream! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I do enjoy Lazaat’s food but as it’s buffet food, I feel it’s rating has to have a ceiling!
